Surname on Caste Certificate Different From Aadhaar in Jharkhand
This is the mismatch that goes round in circles, and there is a reason for that. UIDAI's own list of acceptable documents names the "Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Scheduled Caste (SC) / Other Backward Caste (OBC) Certificate issued by Central Government / State Government" as a Proof of Identity for an Aadhaar update. And the Jharkhand caste certificate service asks for identity proof in the form of an Aadhaar. So each document is offered to you as the proof of the other, and pointing one at the other settles nothing. The way out is a third document, older than both, and the order in which you touch them. There is also a hard limit you should know about before you start: UIDAI permits a name to be updated twice, and after that you are into an exception process at an enrolment centre rather than an online update.
Stop trying to make one of these two documents fix the other, because the Government's own paperwork sends each of them to the other. On the Aadhaar side, UIDAI's List of Acceptable Documents for Enrolment and Update carries the "Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Scheduled Caste (SC) / Other Backward Caste (OBC) Certificate issued by Central Government / State Government" as a Proof of Identity, and it appears in the update list for holders of any age. On the Jharkhand side, the caste certificate service asks for identity proof in the form of an Aadhaar, a passport or a driving licence. That is a genuine circle, and it is why this particular mismatch survives so many office visits. Second, break the circle with a third record that is older than both. For nearly everybody in Jharkhand that is the Class 10 certificate, because it was written before either of these documents existed and because a recruitment panel will read it as the anchor anyway. Third, know the two limits before you touch anything. UIDAI's own answer on how many times demographic details can be updated says a name "can be updated...twice", while gender and date of birth may be updated once, and address and mobile have "no limits on the change...on producing valid documents of proof of identity and proof of address". So an Aadhaar name update is a scarce thing and should be spent once, on the final spelling, not on an experiment. Fourth, read the gazette entry carefully rather than hopefully. In the same UIDAI update list, the gazette appears as "For change in first name or change in full name: Gazette notification". We publish gazette notices for a living and we are telling you that on its own words that entry is about a first name or a full name, not a surname spelling, so do not buy one on the assumption that it is the required route for a surname.
Caste Certificate and Aadhaar: Each One Is the Other's Identity Proof
Most name mismatches have a direction. One document is wrong, another is right, you take the right one to the wrong one's office and it gets fixed. This mismatch has no direction, and once you see why, several wasted trips make sense in hindsight.
Look at the Aadhaar side first. UIDAI publishes a List of Acceptable Documents for Enrolment and Update, and in the list that applies to updates for holders of any age, under the heading "Proof of Identity (PoI) document, containing name and photograph", the caste certificate appears as an accepted document in these words: "Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Scheduled Caste (SC) / Other Backward Caste (OBC) Certificate issued by Central Government / State Government". It appears in the enrolment lists for the five to seventeen age band and for adults as well. So UIDAI will look at your caste certificate to decide what your name is.
Now look at the Jharkhand side. The caste certificate service asks for identity proof, and the identity documents it names are an Aadhaar, a passport or a driving licence. Most applicants in Jharkhand have an Aadhaar and not the other two. So the Circle Office will look at your Aadhaar to decide what your name is.
| The office | What it will accept as proof of your name |
|---|---|
| UIDAI, for an Aadhaar name update | Among its listed Proof of Identity documents, the "Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Scheduled Caste (SC) / Other Backward Caste (OBC) Certificate issued by Central Government / State Government". So your caste certificate can drive the Aadhaar |
| The Circle Office, for a caste certificate | Identity proof in the form of an Aadhaar, a passport or a driving licence. So your Aadhaar can drive the caste certificate |
| What that produces at the counter | A loop. Each clerk can properly tell you to go and fix the other one, and each of them is following a published list while doing it |
| What actually breaks the loop | A third record older than both, which for nearly everyone in Jharkhand is the Class 10 certificate. See name spelling correction |
| What a recruitment panel will do | Read the Class 10 certificate as the anchor anyway, which is a good reason to make that record the one everything else matches. See document verification |
There is one detail in that UIDAI heading that decides whether your caste certificate will actually be accepted, and almost nobody reads it. The heading is "Proof of Identity (PoI) document, containing name and photograph". Name and photograph. A caste certificate issued without a photograph on it does not answer that description, whatever the entry number says. We could not verify whether the digitally issued Jharkhand certificate carries a photograph, and we are not going to guess, so look at your own certificate before you plan a trip around it, and if there is no photograph on it, treat it as unusable for this purpose and use a different listed document.
Which to Correct First When the Caste Certificate and Aadhaar Disagree
Our answer is almost always the same, and it surprises people. Correct the Aadhaar, and leave the caste certificate alone until the Aadhaar is settled. Here is the reasoning, and you can test it against your own situation rather than taking it on trust.
A caste certificate is not amended. There is no counter that edits the old paper. What happens is that a fresh certificate is issued, and the fresh application is read against your identity documents. So a caste certificate application filed while your Aadhaar still carries the other spelling is an application that contradicts itself before anybody opens it. Fixing the Aadhaar first does not merely put one record right. It makes the caste application capable of succeeding.
There is a second reason, and it is about cost in a form that is not money. Your Aadhaar name can be updated twice and that is all, on UIDAI's own answer. So the update should be spent once, on the spelling you have decided is final, after you have looked at the Class 10 certificate. Doing the caste certificate first, discovering that the office has typed a third variant, and then spending an Aadhaar update to chase it, is how people arrive at us having used both of their updates and still holding two documents that disagree.
| The situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| The caste certificate agrees with the Class 10 certificate, the Aadhaar does not | Update the Aadhaar, using the caste certificate as the listed Proof of Identity if it carries a photograph. This is the commonest case and the easiest |
| The Aadhaar agrees with the Class 10 certificate, the caste certificate does not | Apply for a fresh caste certificate with the Aadhaar as identity proof. Do not touch the Aadhaar at all, because you would be spending a scarce update to create a new mismatch |
| Both disagree with the Class 10 certificate, and with each other | Settle the final spelling first, on paper, before touching either. Then Aadhaar, then the fresh caste certificate, in that order and not together |
| The Class 10 certificate is itself wrong | Start there. A correction is made against the school admission register, through the school. See when the register is wrong too |
| You have already used both Aadhaar name updates | You are into the exception process, which is an enrolment centre matter and not an online one. Do not spend money on anything else until you have read the next section |
One more thing that belongs here because it is where families lose a whole year. Do not do this in the middle of an examination cycle. An Aadhaar update in progress while a recruitment form is being verified is worse than either spelling on its own, because the panel sees a record that is neither one thing nor the other. Finish the sequence, hold the final documents, and then apply.
Aadhaar Name Update Documents Accepted for a Surname Correction
UIDAI publishes its list rather than leaving it to the operator at the counter, which means you can check in advance whether the paper in your bag will be accepted. The document is called the List of Acceptable Documents for Enrolment and Update, carrying the line "Mera Aadhaar, Meri Pehchaan". It is arranged in several lists, and the one that matters here is the list for updates, for holders of any age.
Under "Proof of Identity (PoI) document, containing name and photograph" in that update list, these are the entries we read, quoted as printed:
| The listed document | What it is worth to you here |
|---|---|
| "Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Scheduled Caste (SC) / Other Backward Caste (OBC) Certificate issued by Central Government / State Government" | The entry that matters on this page. Your caste certificate can be the proof that drives the Aadhaar update, provided it carries a photograph, because the heading asks for name and photograph |
| "Valid Indian Passport" | The strongest document on the list if you hold one, and the least likely to be questioned. See passport name change |
| "Voter Identity Card /e-Voter Identity Card" | Widely held in Jharkhand and often overlooked. If your voter entry already carries the correct spelling, this is frequently the quickest route |
| "Ration / PDS Photograph Card / e-Ration Card" | Also common here, and it is listed with the photograph requirement built into its own name. See ration card name change |
| "Driving licence" | Accepted, and useful where the spelling on it is right. See driving licence name change |
| "Passbook issued by a scheduled commercial bank or a State cooperative bank" | Worth checking, because a passbook is one of the few papers most households can produce the same day |
| "Service Photo Identity Card issued by Central Government/ State Government/ PSU" | For Government and public sector staff, usually the fastest thing they already hold |
| "Marriage Certificate with or without photograph issued by Central Government/ State Government" | Note the words "with or without photograph", which is a deliberate exception on this entry. See marriage certificate correction |
| "Divorce Decree issued by family court" | Listed in its own right, which matters to people told they need a gazette instead. See divorce decree as proof |
| "For change in first name or change in full name: Gazette notification" | Read the condition attached to it, because it is doing real work. On its own words this entry is tied to a first name or a full name. See the honesty note below |
One limitation we are declaring rather than hiding. The published list carries no date that we could see, and UIDAI revises it. So the entry numbers and the exact wording we have quoted are what the list said when we read it, and the sensible step before a trip to the enrolment centre is to open the current list yourself and check that your document is still on it. We would rather tell you that than have you rely on a quotation that went out of date without telling either of us.
Aadhaar Name Update Limit and the Exception Handling Process
This is the part of the subject that turns an annoyance into a serious problem, and it is the reason we are so insistent about deciding the final spelling before touching anything. UIDAI's own answer to the question of how many times demographic details can be updated says that a name "can be updated...twice". Gender and date of birth "can be updated once". Address and mobile are different in kind: there are "no limits on the change...on producing valid documents of proof of identity and proof of address".
Read that as a budget rather than as a rule. You have two name updates in your lifetime and no more, and a woman who marries, updates once, then discovers a surname variant on a certificate and updates again, has spent the entire budget. Anything after that is not an update at all, it is an exception.
| The field | What UIDAI says about updating it |
|---|---|
| Name | "can be updated...twice". Treat this as the scarcest thing in this whole subject and spend it on a spelling you have already decided is final |
| Date of birth | "can be updated once". Relevant here because a caste certificate application reads the date of birth as well as the name |
| Gender | "can be updated once", and it has its own exception procedure alongside the name one. See gender change in documents |
| Address and mobile | "no limits on the change...on producing valid documents of proof of identity and proof of address". So a bride who has moved can fix the address freely, which is worth knowing because the caste service checks residence |
| Once the name limit is used | The exception handling process, in person at an enrolment centre, with the relevant certificate or a gazette notification as the proof, and approval through the E&U-II division |
Two honesty notes on this section, because it is the one where being wrong would cost a reader the most. First, the procedure we have quoted carries that file reference and its file name carries the date 28 October 2021, and we are describing it as what the procedure says rather than as what any particular enrolment centre will do today. Procedures are revised and centres vary. Second, we did not find a published statement of how long the exception route takes, so we print no number for it. Ask at the enrolment centre and get the answer in writing, and in the meantime plan on the assumption that it is slower than an ordinary update.
Surname Variants, Spacing and Initials Between a Caste Certificate and Aadhaar
A great many of these mismatches are not mistakes at all, and that changes what you should ask for. If your caste certificate says one thing and your Aadhaar says another, and both were properly issued, then nobody typed anything wrongly and asking for a correction of an error will get you nowhere. What you need is a decision about which spelling you are keeping, and then one document changed to match it.
This matters more in Jharkhand than in most States, because so many surnames here are written two or three ways in ordinary use and none of the variants is wrong. We deal with each of those families of names properly on its own page rather than repeating them here. Start with tribal surname spelling correction for the decision, and there are separate pages for Hembrom against Hembram, for Oraon, Uraon and Oram and for Tirkey, Tirki, Kujur, Minz and the rest. If your two documents differ because one is a Hindi transliteration, the Hindi to English spelling page is the one you want.
| The kind of difference | What to ask for |
|---|---|
| One document has a genuine typing error | A correction at the office that issued that document, with an older document proving what it should have said. The cheapest outcome available |
| Both are properly issued variants of one surname | A decision, then one change. Pick the spelling your Class 10 certificate carries and bring the other document to it. Do not ask for a correction of an error that does not exist |
| A space in a different place | Treat it as a real obstacle even though it is not a real difference, because automated verification compares characters. Settle it on the Aadhaar side where you can |
| An initial on one and the full name on the other | Expand the initial rather than shortening the full name, because every downstream office reads the longer form more easily. See name order in documents |
| Kumari or Devi on one document only | A very common Jharkhand pattern and a decision rather than an error. See Kumari or Devi to a husband's surname |
| The two differ because one is written in another script | Not a mistake by anybody. See Ol Chiki transliteration and Hindi to English spelling |
One point specific to this pair of documents. A caste certificate is a document you will be asked to produce for the rest of your working life, at every recruitment, every promotion and every verification. So where the two variants are equally proper and you genuinely have a free choice, there is a case for keeping the spelling that is on the caste certificate and the Class 10 certificate, and moving the Aadhaar, because the Aadhaar is the record that is easiest to change and the caste certificate is the one that gets scrutinised hardest.
How to Fix a Surname Mismatch Between a Caste Certificate and Aadhaar
Find out how many Aadhaar name updates you have already used
Before anything else, because a name "can be updated...twice" and no more. If both are gone you are planning a different journey entirely, and everything below changes.
Read your Class 10 certificate and write the spelling down
Letter by letter, with the spacing exactly as printed. This is the record that breaks the tie between two documents that each claim to prove the other, and it is what a recruitment panel reads anyway.
Decide whether this is an error or two proper variants
An error gets corrected at the issuing office. Two proper variants need a decision and one change, and asking for a correction of a non existent mistake wastes a cycle. See correction against change.
Check whether your caste certificate carries a photograph
Because UIDAI's heading asks for a "Proof of Identity (PoI) document, containing name and photograph". Without a photograph on it, plan to use a different listed document instead rather than discovering this at the counter.
Look for a listed document that already carries the right spelling
A voter card, a ration card, a bank passbook, a driving licence, a passport or a service identity card. One of these is usually already correct, and using it costs nothing at all.
Update the Aadhaar once, to the final spelling
Not to an intermediate one and not twice. Spend one of your two updates deliberately, on the spelling you have already written down from the Class 10 certificate.
Only then apply for a fresh caste certificate if you still need one
A caste certificate is issued fresh, never amended, and the application is read against your identity documents. Filing it before the Aadhaar is settled is filing a file that contradicts itself.
Bring the father's name into line at the same time
Because a panel reads it as closely as it reads yours, and a difference between the Class 10 certificate and an identity document is a rejection reason in its own right. See father's name spelling mismatch.
If both updates are spent, go to an enrolment centre in person
The procedure says the "Resident to enrol for Aadhaar update at the nearest enrolment centre with concerned document". This route is not available online, so do not keep retrying the portal.
Keep every acknowledgement, and get any refusal in writing
At both offices. Until you hold a written reason you are guessing which entry failed, and a fresh application built on a guess usually fails the same way.
Central Gazette Process for a Name From Jharkhand, and Where It Fits an Aadhaar Update
No district in Jharkhand has a gazette counter, so a genuine file goes from Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Deoghar or anywhere else in the state to the Department of Publication, Civil Lines, Delhi 110054, and the notice publishes in Part IV of the Gazette of India. As reported in July 2025 the Finance Department stopped personal name change notifications from the Jharkhand Government Press with immediate effect, so there is no state alternative to fall back on.
The Eight Steps of a Name File Sent From Jharkhand
Settle the final name first
Letter by letter, with the spacing you want, and then use exactly that everywhere, Aadhaar included. A corrigendum after publication is a second fee and a second wait.
Pick the category, then its proforma
A genuine change of name is change of Name Adult or Major. A wrongly typed spelling is the public notice for a wrongly written name. Twelve categories exist and only one is yours.
Type the proforma in duplicate
Two originals with two witnesses giving signature, full name, address and mobile number on both copies. A change of name is signed in the old name; a public notice is signed in your own name.
Fill the employment field if it is a change of name
The adult proforma asks for the post of the applicant and the office or company name. A student or a homemaker should still complete it rather than leaving it blank, because a blank field brings the file back.
Publish and keep the original paper
One of the daily local leading newspapers, carrying both names in full, the father or husband name and the residential address. The whole original paper goes in the file, not a cutting.
Pay only through BharatKosh
The Non Tax Receipt Portal and nowhere else since October 2018. Select the Department of Publication by name, read the amount the portal shows on the day, pay in your own name and print the e-receipt.
Check every date, then post it yourself
Nothing in the file older than one year. Personally or by post or courier only, never through an agent or advocate. Photocopy everything first, because nothing sent in comes back.
Read the notice, then update in the right order
Check every word the day it publishes, download the e-Gazette copy, and then update the Aadhaar first, because the system leverages it for unique identification, and let the bank account, the voter entry and any scheme records follow after it in that order. The fresh caste certificate comes last of all, because the Circle Office reads the identity papers you have already put right.
The Five Papers in the File, and What Is Checked in Each
| The paper | What is checked in it, clause by clause |
|---|---|
| 1. The proforma, in duplicate | That it is the right category format; the existing full name exactly as your documents carry it; the new full name exactly as settled; the father or husband name; the full address with pin code; the post and office or company name where it is a change of name; the signature in the right name for the category; two witnesses complete with signature, full name, address and mobile number |
| 2. The affidavit or undertaking | The same names and address as the proforma, word for word, with wording matching the category. On Rs 100 non-judicial stamp paper as our safe default |
| 3. The original newspaper | The original paper, not a cutting; the paper name and date of publication visible; both names carried; the father or husband name and residential address; dated within the last year |
| 4. Photographs, identity proof and any category paper | Two self attested passport photographs; self attested identity and address proof matching the proforma address; both witnesses proofs; and, in a public notice file, the attested photocopy of the connected document carrying the error |
| 5. The CD, its certificate and the BharatKosh receipt | MS Word, without the witness portion, with the name typed in place of the signature; the certificate that the hard copy and the soft copy are the same; the forwarding letter to the Controller of Publication with a telephone number and email; the e-receipt |
The posting detail is on the sending the file to Delhi page, the change of name wording on the proforma format page and the public notice wording on the public notice proforma page, the charge by category on the fee and undertaking page, the reasons files come back on the rejection reasons page, and the download on the download page.
What Fixing a Caste Certificate and Aadhaar Surname Mismatch Costs
The good news on this page is that the cheapest route is very often the correct one, and it involves buying nothing at all. Here is what we can and cannot tell you about each item.
| Item | What we can and cannot tell you |
|---|---|
| Using a document you already hold | Nothing, and this is the outcome to aim for. If your voter card, ration card or passbook already carries the right spelling, it is a listed Proof of Identity and the job is nearly done |
| The Aadhaar update charge | We print no figure. UIDAI sets it and revises it, and we are not going to quote an amount that may have changed. Ask at the enrolment centre and see the receipt |
| A fresh caste certificate | We print no figure either, because no fee is stated on the JharSewa service pages we read. Ask at the Pragya Kendra or the Circle Office and get the amount in writing |
| The exception handling route, once both updates are spent | We verified no charge and no timeline for it. What we can tell you is that it happens in person at an enrolment centre and runs through an approval division, so budget time rather than money |
| A Central Gazette notice | Read the condition before you buy one. The UIDAI update entry is "For change in first name or change in full name: Gazette notification". Paid only through BharatKosh, revised each financial year, never refunded. See the cost page |
| An affidavit, offered as the quick fix | It is not on the UIDAI list of acceptable documents at all. Useful for a bank or an employer as a one and the same person declaration, and not a substitute for a listed document here |
| What we charge | Quoted on the call once we have seen the caste certificate, the Aadhaar and the Class 10 certificate. If the answer is that your voter card already solves this, we will say so and charge you nothing |
Myths About a Caste Certificate and Aadhaar Surname Mismatch
| What people believe | What is actually so |
|---|---|
| Take the Aadhaar to the Circle Office and they will fix the certificate | They will read the Aadhaar as your identity proof. And UIDAI will read the caste certificate as yours. That is the loop, not the solution |
| A caste certificate cannot be used to change an Aadhaar | It is a listed Proof of Identity in UIDAI's own update list, in the words "Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Scheduled Caste (SC) / Other Backward Caste (OBC) Certificate issued by Central Government / State Government" |
| Any caste certificate will do for the Aadhaar update | The heading asks for a document "containing name and photograph". Check yours for a photograph before you rely on it |
| I need a gazette notification for a surname spelling | The listed entry reads "For change in first name or change in full name: Gazette notification". On its own words that is not a surname spelling, and we sell gazettes |
| An affidavit will settle it at the enrolment centre | An affidavit is not on the UIDAI list. It has real uses with banks and employers and this is not one of them |
| I can keep updating the Aadhaar until it is right | A name "can be updated...twice". After that it is an exception process in person, not an update |
| The caste certificate can be amended with the correct spelling | There is no amendment. A fresh certificate is issued, and the fresh application is read against your identity documents |
| A space or an initial is too small to matter | Automated verification compares characters, not intentions. Small differences stop files, and they have to be settled |
| One of the two spellings must be wrong | Very often neither is. Many Jharkhand surnames are properly written more than one way, which makes this a decision rather than a correction |
| Do both at once to save time | It is the reliable way to lose a cycle. The caste application reads the Aadhaar, so the Aadhaar has to be finished first |
| The address does not matter here | Address and mobile have "no limits on the change", unlike the name, and the caste service checks where you ordinarily reside. Fix the address freely, it costs you nothing from the name budget |
Key Terms in a Caste Certificate and Aadhaar Name Mismatch
| Term | What it means in practice |
|---|---|
| Proof of Identity, or PoI | The UIDAI category your document has to fall into. The heading asks for name and photograph, which rules out some papers people expect to work |
| List of Acceptable Documents | UIDAI's published list, arranged by age band and by enrolment against update. Read the update list, not the enrolment one |
| Update limit | Two for a name, one for date of birth, one for gender, none for address and mobile. Think of the name limit as a budget |
| Exception handling process | The route once the name limit is spent. In person at an enrolment centre, with an approval division involved |
| Anchor record | The oldest document carrying your name, in Jharkhand almost always the Class 10 certificate. The tie breaker in this whole subject |
| Properly issued variant | Two spellings of one surname, neither of them a mistake. Needs a decision, not a correction |
| Fresh issue, not amendment | How a caste certificate changes. Nobody edits the old paper, so the new application must be internally consistent |
| One and the same person declaration | A statement that two names belong to one person. Banks and employers often accept it; the UIDAI list does not include it |
| Circle Officer | The revenue officer who issues the State caste certificate, and the office that will read your Aadhaar |
| Enrolment centre | Where an Aadhaar update is done in person, and the only route once the limit is used |
| Dated acknowledgement | A receipt for anything handed in at either office. The only thing that makes a delay measurable |
| Written refusal | The most useful document in this subject, because it names the entry that failed instead of leaving you to guess |
Caste Certificate and Aadhaar Name Matching Help Across Jharkhand
On this subject the work is a decision followed by an order, and both of them are easy to get wrong on your own. We read the caste certificate, the Aadhaar and the Class 10 certificate side by side, tell you which spelling to keep and which document has to move, check whether your caste certificate carries the photograph the UIDAI heading actually asks for, find out how many Aadhaar name updates you have left before you spend one, and go through your other papers looking for a voter card, ration card, passbook or licence that already carries the right spelling, because that is the route that costs nothing. Where the name genuinely changed and several offices want one proof at the same time, we prepare the gazette file properly. What we will not do is sell a gazette notice for a surname spelling when the published entry is tied to a first name or a full name, and we will not file both applications at once, because the caste file is read against the Aadhaar and has to come second. We help people across Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Deoghar and every other district, on scans over WhatsApp.

Send both documents and your Class 10 certificate
Send three things first and they are enough for us to answer: the caste certificate, the Aadhaar and the Class 10 certificate. That third one is the tie breaker, because each of the first two is treated as the identity proof for the other and neither will settle the argument. Then send whatever else carries your name: the voter card, the ration card, a bank passbook, a driving licence or a service identity card, because one of those is often already correct and using it costs nothing at all. Add whatever the office, college or recruitment panel has put in writing. Tell us in one line what has happened: an application was refused, a verification failed, a portal will not accept the name, or one office keeps sending you to the other. And tell us how many times your Aadhaar name has already been updated, because you get two in your lifetime and that number changes the whole plan. Our first reply tells you which spelling to keep, which document has to move, and in what order. If the answer is that your voter card already solves it, we will tell you that and charge you nothing. The page nonetheless points out that the UIDAI gazette entry is conditioned on a first name or a full name, that a surname spelling is neither on the face of that wording, and that several other listed documents carry no such condition. We would rather lose the sale than have a reader buy the wrong document |
| Your enrolment centre, your Circle Office, and the office refusing you | The three sources that outrank this page. The enrolment centre on how many updates you have left and what it will accept, the Circle Office on what it will read, and the objecting office on which entry it is actually refusing. Ask all three in writing |
Caste Certificate Against Aadhaar in Jharkhand in Nine Lines
The short version
- Your caste certificate is a listed identity proof for an Aadhaar update.
- Your Aadhaar is a listed identity proof for a caste certificate.
- So neither office will break the tie, and the loop is the result.
- The Class 10 certificate is the record that ends it.
- A name may be updated in Aadhaar twice, and no more.
- Once that is spent it is an exception route, in person, not online.
- The UIDAI gazette entry covers a first name or a full name.
- A caste certificate is issued fresh, never amended.
- So fix the Aadhaar first, then apply for the certificate.
