Caste Certificate After Marriage for Women in Jharkhand
The question nearly everybody asks is the wrong one. Marriage does not change your caste, and the Supreme Court has said so in one sentence: "the caste is determined by birth and the caste cannot be changed by marriage with a person of scheduled caste." That cuts both ways. A general category woman does not become Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe by marrying into it, and a Scheduled Tribe woman from Jharkhand does not stop being Scheduled Tribe by marrying out of it. So your caste entry is not the thing that needs fixing. What changed is your name, and your caste certificate will still name your father, because in Jharkhand the proof of caste the Government asks for is the Khatian and the old land record, and those carry your father's line rather than your husband's.
Separate the two things that got mixed together, because one of them cannot be changed and the other one can. First, your caste. The Supreme Court held in Sunita Singh against State of Uttar Pradesh, decided on 19 January 2018, that "the caste is determined by birth and the caste cannot be changed by marriage with a person of scheduled caste." In that case a woman born into a forward caste family had obtained a Scheduled Caste certificate after marrying a Scheduled Caste man, and the Court said she should never have had it. The same rule read the other way is the one that matters to most readers of this page: a Scheduled Tribe or Scheduled Caste woman in Jharkhand does not lose her category by marrying a man of another category. An earlier judgment, Valsamma Paul against Cochin University, 4 January 1996, put it in terms of reservation: somebody "transplanted in backward caste by adoption or marriage or conversion, does not become eligible to the benefit of reservation". Second, your name. That genuinely did change, and that is the real problem. Your caste certificate will still name your father, and it is supposed to. Jharkhand asks for proof of caste in the form of the Khatian or land records, and proof of permanent residence in the form of land registration documents dated before 1950. Those papers carry your father's and grandfather's names, not your husband's, so no amount of marriage paperwork changes what they say. Third, what to actually do. A caste certificate is not amended; a fresh one is issued. On JharSewa the Scheduled Tribe service carries a published limit of "30 Day" excluding Government holidays, the State certificate comes from the Circle Officer, and the Central format comes from the Sub Divisional Officer and Deputy Commissioner and asks for the reference number of the certificate already issued by the Circle Officer. So the State one comes first, always.
Caste Certificate and Marriage: What the Supreme Court Has Held
Start with the sentence, because it settles most of the argument in a single line. In Sunita Singh against State of Uttar Pradesh, decided on 19 January 2018 by a Bench of Justice Mohan M. Shantanagoudar and Justice Arun Mishra, the Supreme Court held that "the caste is determined by birth and the caste cannot be changed by marriage with a person of scheduled caste."
The facts matter, so here they are plainly. The woman in that case was born into an Agarwal family, which is general category, and she obtained a Scheduled Caste certificate after marrying a man of a Scheduled Caste. The Court said she should never have been given it. It did soften the consequence for her personally, using its power under Article 142 of the Constitution to convert her termination into compulsory retirement in view of twenty one years of unblemished service, but it did not soften the rule.
The reasoning is older than that judgment. In Valsamma Paul against Cochin University, decided on 4 January 1996 by Justice K. Ramaswamy and Justice B.L. Hansaria, the Court explained why reservation does not travel through a marriage. It held that "A candidate who had the advantageous start in life being born in forward caste and had march of advantageous life but is transplanted in backward caste by adoption or marriage or conversion, does not become eligible to the benefit of reservation either under Article 15(4) and 16(4), as the case may be." The point the Court kept returning to is that the protection exists for people who actually carried the disadvantage, and that somebody "transplanted" into the class later has not.
| The question | The answer, and where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Does my caste change when I marry? | No. "the caste is determined by birth and the caste cannot be changed by marriage with a person of scheduled caste", Supreme Court, 19 January 2018 |
| Can I claim my husband's category for a reserved post? | No. Somebody "transplanted in backward caste by adoption or marriage or conversion, does not become eligible to the benefit of reservation", Supreme Court, 4 January 1996 |
| Do I lose my own category by marrying out of it? | The same rule says no, because caste is determined by birth. Your certificate rests on your birth family, and a marriage does not rewrite that |
| Then what actually changed? | Your name, and only your name. That is a records problem, and it is the one this page is really about |
| Will my old certificate stop being valid? | The Scheduled Tribe certificate format itself says it is "valid till further orders or till any change made in Central Caste list under ST category for Jharkhand." A marriage is not one of those things |
One honest limit before we go further. Those are judgments about who may claim a reserved category, and we are quoting them for the principle they state rather than treating them as an instruction manual for a counter clerk. An office can still refuse to accept a certificate because the name on it does not match the name on your other papers, and that refusal has nothing to do with caste at all. That is precisely why the rest of this page is about the name.
Why the Caste Rule Protects Scheduled Tribe Women in Jharkhand
Almost everything written on this subject online is about somebody trying to gain a category by marriage. In Jharkhand the more common and more painful version is the opposite one: a Scheduled Tribe or Scheduled Caste woman being told, usually by somebody with no authority to say it, that her category has gone because of who she married.
The rule does not work that way, and it cannot. If caste is determined by birth, then it is determined by birth for everybody, in both directions. A Munda, Oraon, Santal, Ho or Kharia woman who marries a man of another community was born into her community and remains of it, and her certificate rests on her own birth family. The Supreme Court sentence that stops a forward caste woman from claiming Scheduled Caste status by marriage is the very same sentence that stops anybody from stripping a Scheduled Tribe woman of hers.
We are going to be careful here rather than encouraging. The proposition that caste is determined by birth is the Supreme Court's, and we have quoted it. What follows from it for a particular land question under the Chhotanagpur Tenancy Act or the Santhal Pargana Tenancy Act is a legal question about tenancy law, and it is not one we answer. We are a documentation desk. If a land right is at stake, that is a matter for an advocate who practises before your Circle Officer and Deputy Commissioner, and we will say so rather than take the work. What we can do is make sure the name on your records stops being the reason anybody gets to raise the question.
| What you are told | What is usually going on |
|---|---|
| Your caste certificate is not valid now that you are married | Almost always a name objection wearing a caste costume. Ask which entry does not match, in writing |
| Get a new certificate showing your husband's caste | Nobody can issue that, because caste is determined by birth. An office asking for it is asking for something that does not exist |
| You need your husband's Khatian now | Proof of caste in Jharkhand is your own family's land record. Your husband's Khatian proves his family's position, not yours |
| Your certificate has expired | The Scheduled Tribe format says it is "valid till further orders or till any change made in Central Caste list under ST category for Jharkhand." Marriage is not in that sentence |
| You have lost your reservation because you married outside | That is not what the judgments say, and it is the point on which people are most often frightened into buying something. Get it in writing and read it |
Why a Caste Certificate in Jharkhand Still Names Your Father After Marriage
Look at the heading printed on the Jharkhand Scheduled Tribe certificate itself and you can see what the document is for. It reads "CASTE CERTIFICATE TO BE ISSUED TO PERSONS BELONGING TO A SCHEDULED TRIBES APPLYING FOR APPOINTMENT TO POSTS/ADMISSION UNDER THE GOVERNMENT OF JHARKHAND". It is a certificate about which community a person belongs to, issued so that person can apply for a post or a seat.
And because the community comes from the family you were born into, the certificate is written around that family. It names your father. Not to be old fashioned about it, and not because the office has forgotten that you married, but because your father's line is the evidence that you belong to the community at all. Replace his name with your husband's and the document stops proving the thing it exists to prove.
The competent authorities are worth knowing by rank rather than by name, because the person at the counter will not always tell you. The Jharkhand certificate names District Magistrates, Sub Divisional Officers and a "Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar" among the authorities competent to issue it. That rank floor is useful. If somebody below that rank offers you a caste certificate, or offers to have one arranged, you are being offered something the format itself does not recognise.
| The entry | Can it change after marriage |
|---|---|
| Your own name | Yes, and this is usually the whole job. A fresh certificate is issued in the name your other records now carry. See name change after marriage |
| Your father's name | No, and you do not want it to. It is the proof of your community. It changes only where it was typed wrongly. See father's name correction |
| Your caste or community | No. Determined by birth, on the Supreme Court's own words, and a marriage does not reach it |
| Your address | Often yes, and it is quietly important, because the service asks for proof that you ordinarily reside where you say. A bride who has moved district should expect this to be looked at |
| Your husband's name | It does not appear on the certificate at all, and adding it is not a service anybody offers. If you are being told otherwise, ask under which service and on which portal |
One practical warning that comes up constantly in recruitment. A Government panel reads your Class 10 certificate, your caste certificate and your identity documents side by side, and a father's name that differs between them is a listed reason for rejection in its own right. A married woman is unusually exposed to this, because her State certificates name her father while her newer records carry her husband's surname. Settle the father's name across every document before you sit an examination, not after the result.
Khatian and Land Records as Proof of Caste in Jharkhand
This is where Jharkhand stops resembling other States, and it is the part that decides whether a married woman's application moves or stalls. The JharSewa service page for the Scheduled Tribe caste certificate lists proof of caste as the "Khatian or land records", and proof of permanent residence as "land registration documents dated before 1950".
Read that twice. The State does not prove your community from your marriage certificate, your husband's papers or anything issued in the last few years. It proves it from an old land record, reaching back before 1950. And an old land record is in the name of your father, your grandfather or an ancestor further back than that.
So the useful preparation is not a trip to a lawyer. It is a trip home. Get a copy of the Khatian entry and whatever pre 1950 record your family holds, along with the certificates of a brother or your father if they have already been issued caste certificates, because a certificate already issued to a sibling from the same father is the cleanest evidence a Circle Officer can be shown.
| What the service asks for | What that means once you have married |
|---|---|
| Proof of caste, namely the Khatian or land records | Your father's family's record, not your husband's. This is the entry that decides the application |
| Proof of permanent residence, namely land registration documents dated before 1950 | Again your birth family's side. A document from before 1950 cannot possibly be in your married name |
| Proof of ordinary residence, such as a ration card, an electricity bill or a voter entry | This one does follow you. If you have moved to your husband's district, this is the entry that should show the new address. See adding a wife's name to a ration card |
| Identity proof, such as Aadhaar, a passport or a driving licence | This is where your married name usually appears. So this is where the mismatch with the old certificate shows up. See Aadhaar name change |
| Proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate, a voter entry or a PAN | Your birth certificate carries your maiden name and your father's name, which is correct and should not be disturbed |
| A self declaration by the applicant or by a parent for a minor | An adult signs her own. Sign in the name your current records carry, and keep it consistent with everything else in the file |
One honest note on how we read that list. Those document descriptions come from the JharSewa service page for the Scheduled Tribe certificate, and portals describe their own requirements in shorthand. A Circle Officer may accept other evidence of the family's community, and in practice often does where the land record is missing. So treat the list as what the State asks for first rather than as a closed door, and ask your own Circle Office what they will read if the Khatian cannot be found.
Applying Again for a Caste Certificate in Your Married Name in Jharkhand
There is no amendment counter for a caste certificate. You do not get the old paper edited, you get a fresh certificate issued in the name your records now carry, and once you understand that, a lot of wasted effort disappears. Nobody is going to strike out a line and initial it.
Two things about the JharSewa listing are worth having before you start, because they affect the order of work. First, there are twelve separate caste certificate services listed, not one. Among them are "Caste Certificate for Scheduled Tribe", "Caste Certificate for Scheduled Caste", "Caste Certificate for OBC", "Caste Certificate for EBC-I and BC-II", "Caste Certificate for EBC-I and BC-II(Non Creamy Layer)", and separate migrant services, "Caste Certificate for ST and SC Migrants" and "Caste Certificate for OBC-Migrants". Picking the wrong one of twelve is a wasted application, and a married woman who has moved across a State border should look hard at the migrant services before assuming the ordinary one fits.
| The level | Who issues it and what it needs |
|---|---|
| The State certificate | The Circle Officer. Needs the Khatian or land record, the pre 1950 residence proof, identity and residence proof, and a self declaration. This is the one that has to be right first |
| The Central format certificate | The Sub Divisional Officer and Deputy Commissioner. Asks expressly for the "Reference No. of caste certificate issued by Circle Officer", so it cannot be obtained first |
| The migrant services | Listed separately as "Caste Certificate for ST and SC Migrants" and "Caste Certificate for OBC-Migrants". Worth reading if you or your family came into Jharkhand from another State |
| The published time limit | The Scheduled Tribe service page states "30 Day", excluding Government holidays, and calls the service a statutory one under the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Raj Bhasa |
| The fee | We print none. No fee is stated on the pages we read, so ask at the Pragya Kendra or the Circle Office and get the amount in writing |
That thirty day figure is worth using rather than just reading. Jharkhand has a service guarantee law, the Jharkhand Rajya Sewa Dene ki Guarantee Act 2011, under which a designated officer must provide a notified service within the stipulated time limit or record the reasons for a rejection in writing. We set that Act out on the income certificate page. The Scheduled Tribe certificate service describes itself as statutory and publishes a limit of thirty days, so if your application has been sitting for longer than that, the useful next step is a written request for the decision or the reasons, not another visit to the counter. Keep the dated acknowledgement, because without it nothing is measurable.
How to Get a Caste Certificate in Your Married Name in Jharkhand
Ask the office what it actually wants, in writing
A certificate in your married name, a Central format certificate, or something it cannot have such as a certificate showing your husband's caste. The written answer decides everything below, and it also exposes a demand that no authority can meet.
Settle that your caste is not the issue
Because "the caste is determined by birth and the caste cannot be changed by marriage". Once you stop trying to change a caste entry, the job shrinks to a name. See correction against change.
Go home for the Khatian and the old land record
Proof of caste in Jharkhand is the Khatian or land records, and permanent residence proof reaches back before 1950. Those are your father's family's papers, so collect them from your own side and not from your in laws.
Collect a sibling's or your father's caste certificate if one exists
A certificate already issued to a brother or sister from the same father is the cleanest evidence a Circle Officer can be handed. It proves the family's community without anybody having to interpret a land record.
Settle your own name across your own records first
Aadhaar, the Class 10 certificate, the bank and the voter entry. A file that contradicts itself is refused whatever else is in it, and then the thirty days begin again. See documents required after marriage.
Fix the father's name everywhere before any examination
A father's name that differs between your Class 10 certificate and your identity papers is a rejection reason in its own right. A married woman is unusually exposed to this, because her State certificates name her father.
Update the residence proof if you have moved district
The service asks for proof that you ordinarily reside where you say. A bride who has moved should expect this entry to be read closely, and it is the one part of the file that genuinely follows the marriage.
Pick the right service out of the twelve on the portal
Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, OBC, the EBC-I and BC-II formats, the non creamy layer version, or a migrant service. The wrong choice is a wasted application, not a redirected one.
Get the State certificate before the Central format
Because the Central services ask for the "Reference No. of caste certificate issued by Circle Officer". Applying for both together simply fails, and that is a whole cycle lost.
Keep the acknowledgement, and put any refusal in writing
The Scheduled Tribe service publishes "30 Day" as its limit. Without a dated acknowledgement that limit means nothing, and without a written refusal you are guessing which entry failed.
Central Gazette Process for a Name From Jharkhand, and Where It Fits a Caste Certificate
No district in Jharkhand has a gazette counter, so a genuine file goes from Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Deoghar or anywhere else in the state to the Department of Publication, Civil Lines, Delhi 110054, and the notice publishes in Part IV of the Gazette of India. As reported in July 2025 the Finance Department stopped personal name change notifications from the Jharkhand Government Press with immediate effect, so there is no state alternative to fall back on.
The Eight Steps of a Name File Sent From Jharkhand
Settle the final name first
Letter by letter, with the spacing you want, and then use exactly that everywhere, Aadhaar included. A corrigendum after publication is a second fee and a second wait.
Pick the category, then its proforma
A genuine change of name is change of Name Adult or Major. A wrongly typed spelling is the public notice for a wrongly written name. Twelve categories exist and only one is yours.
Type the proforma in duplicate
Two originals with two witnesses giving signature, full name, address and mobile number on both copies. A change of name is signed in the old name; a public notice is signed in your own name.
Fill the employment field if it is a change of name
The adult proforma asks for the post of the applicant and the office or company name. A student or a homemaker should still complete it rather than leaving it blank, because a blank field brings the file back.
Publish and keep the original paper
One of the daily local leading newspapers, carrying both names in full, the father or husband name and the residential address. The whole original paper goes in the file, not a cutting.
Pay only through BharatKosh
The Non Tax Receipt Portal and nowhere else since October 2018. Select the Department of Publication by name, read the amount the portal shows on the day, pay in your own name and print the e-receipt.
Check every date, then post it yourself
Nothing in the file older than one year. Personally or by post or courier only, never through an agent or advocate. Photocopy everything first, because nothing sent in comes back.
Read the notice, then update in the right order
Check every word the day it publishes, download the e-Gazette copy, and then update the Aadhaar first, because the system leverages it for unique identification, and let the Class 10 records, the bank account and any scheme records follow after it in that order. The fresh caste certificate comes last of all, because the Circle Office reads the papers you have already put right.
The Five Papers in the File, and What Is Checked in Each
| The paper | What is checked in it, clause by clause |
|---|---|
| 1. The proforma, in duplicate | That it is the right category format; the existing full name exactly as your documents carry it; the new full name exactly as settled; the father or husband name; the full address with pin code; the post and office or company name where it is a change of name; the signature in the right name for the category; two witnesses complete with signature, full name, address and mobile number |
| 2. The affidavit or undertaking | The same names and address as the proforma, word for word, with wording matching the category. On Rs 100 non-judicial stamp paper as our safe default |
| 3. The original newspaper | The original paper, not a cutting; the paper name and date of publication visible; both names carried; the father or husband name and residential address; dated within the last year |
| 4. Photographs, identity proof and any category paper | Two self attested passport photographs; self attested identity and address proof matching the proforma address; both witnesses proofs; and, in a public notice file, the attested photocopy of the connected document carrying the error |
| 5. The CD, its certificate and the BharatKosh receipt | MS Word, without the witness portion, with the name typed in place of the signature; the certificate that the hard copy and the soft copy are the same; the forwarding letter to the Controller of Publication with a telephone number and email; the e-receipt |
The posting detail is on the sending the file to Delhi page, the change of name wording on the proforma format page and the public notice wording on the public notice proforma page, the charge by category on the fee and undertaking page, the reasons files come back on the rejection reasons page, and the download on the download page.
What a Caste Certificate After Marriage Costs in Jharkhand
This is a short section, and the reason it is short is that the State publishes almost nothing about what this costs. We would rather say that than fill the gap.
| Item | What we can and cannot tell you |
|---|---|
| The caste certificate itself | We print no figure. No fee is stated on the JharSewa service pages we read. Ask at the Pragya Kendra or the Circle Office and get the amount in writing before you hand anything over |
| The Khatian copy and land record extract | A record room charge, which we have not verified either. This is the cost worth paying without hesitating, because it is the document the whole application rests on |
| Correcting your own name on your other records | The real spend in most of these cases, and it happens before the caste certificate rather than after it. See the cost page |
| A marriage certificate, if you do not hold one | Useful as the link between two names for banks and employers. It is not proof of caste and never will be. See marriage certificate correction |
| A Central Gazette notice | Only where the name genuinely changed and several offices want one proof at the same time. Paid only through BharatKosh, revised each financial year, never refunded |
| Anybody selling a caste certificate in your husband's caste | Money gone, and worse. Caste is determined by birth, so the document being sold cannot lawfully exist. A wrongly obtained certificate is a service risk, not a shortcut |
| What we charge | Quoted on the call once we have seen the certificate, the Class 10 certificate and the Aadhaar. If the answer is that your caste entry is fine and only your Aadhaar needs correcting, we will say so |
Myths About Caste Certificates for Married Women in Jharkhand
| What people believe | What is actually so |
|---|---|
| My caste changes to my husband's when I marry | "the caste is determined by birth and the caste cannot be changed by marriage with a person of scheduled caste", Supreme Court, 19 January 2018 |
| I can claim my husband's reserved category | Somebody "transplanted in backward caste by adoption or marriage or conversion, does not become eligible to the benefit of reservation", Supreme Court, 4 January 1996 |
| I lose my Scheduled Tribe status if I marry outside | The same rule works both ways. Caste is determined by birth, so it is not a status a marriage can take away either |
| The father's name on my certificate is an error to fix | It is the proof of your community. It is corrected only where it was typed wrongly, never because you married |
| My husband's Khatian will do as proof of caste | It proves his family's position, not yours. Jharkhand asks for the "Khatian or land records" of your own family |
| The certificate can be amended at the counter | There is no amendment. A fresh certificate is issued in the name your records now carry |
| My old certificate expired when I married | The Scheduled Tribe format says it is "valid till further orders or till any change made in Central Caste list under ST category for Jharkhand." |
| One caste certificate service covers everybody | Twelve are listed on JharSewa, including separate migrant services and separate Central format services |
| I can get the Central format certificate straight away | It asks for the "Reference No. of caste certificate issued by Circle Officer". The State one comes first |
| A gazette notification will settle my caste | A gazette is about a name, never about a community. It cannot grant, remove or confirm a caste |
| Somebody at the block office can arrange one for me | The format names District Magistrates, Sub Divisional Officers and a "Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar". Below that rank, nobody |
Key Terms in a Caste Certificate After Marriage in Jharkhand
| Term | What it means in practice |
|---|---|
| Khatian | The land record entry for a holding. In Jharkhand it is the State's listed proof of caste, which is why this subject sends you to your father's village |
| Pre 1950 land registration document | The listed proof of permanent residence. By definition it cannot be in your married name |
| Circle Officer | The revenue officer who issues the State caste certificate. Your first and most important office on this subject |
| Sub Divisional Officer and Deputy Commissioner | Who the Central format certificate comes from, and only after the State one exists |
| Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar | The rank floor named in the certificate format. A useful test of anybody offering to arrange one |
| Central format certificate | The version a central Government post or examination wants. Built on the State certificate's reference number |
| Non creamy layer | An OBC income and status condition, with its own listed service. Nothing to do with a name or a marriage. See the OBC certificate page |
| Migrant service | The separate service for a family that came into Jharkhand from another State. Worth reading before assuming the ordinary service fits |
| Determined by birth | The Supreme Court's expression. It means the family you were born into decides your category, in both directions |
| Anchor record | The oldest document carrying your name, usually the Class 10 certificate. Settle the spelling against it |
| Dated acknowledgement | A stamped receipt for the application. The only thing that makes the thirty day limit mean anything |
| Written refusal | The most useful document in this subject. It usually reveals that the objection was about a name and not a caste at all |
Caste Certificate Name Help for Married Women Across Jharkhand
We are going to be clear about what we do and do not take on here, because this is a subject where families get sold things they cannot use. We read the caste certificate, the Class 10 certificate, the Aadhaar and the residence proof together, tell you whether the office is objecting to your own name, your father's name or your address, work out which spelling your papers actually support, and put the records into line in an order that does not waste a thirty day cycle. Where the name genuinely changed and several offices want one proof at once, we prepare the gazette file or the public notice properly. What we will not do is file a caste claim that your birth family's papers cannot support, and where a land right under the Chhotanagpur Tenancy Act or the Santhal Pargana Tenancy Act is involved we send you to an advocate rather than take the work. We help women across Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Deoghar and every other district, on scans over WhatsApp.
District pages are linked from the services page.
Send the certificate and your own family papers
Send the existing caste certificate first, then your Class 10 certificate, your Aadhaar and your residence proof, and if you have them the Khatian or land record from your father's side and any caste certificate already issued to your father or a brother or sister. Those last two are the papers that actually decide a caste application in Jharkhand, and they come from your own family and not from your husband's. Add whatever the office, college or recruitment panel has put in writing. Tell us in one line what has happened: a certificate has been refused, a panel has objected, a college is asking for a certificate in your married name, or somebody has told you that your category has gone because of who you married. And tell us whether you have moved district since the marriage, because the residence entry is the one part of this file that genuinely follows a marriage. Our first reply tells you whether the objection is about your own name, your father's name or your address, and the order to put things in so that a thirty day cycle is not wasted. If the answer is that your caste entry is fine and only your Aadhaar needs correcting, we will tell you that and charge you nothing. Details on the contact page.

The Chhotanagpur Tenancy Act 1908 and the Santhal Pargana Tenancy Act 1949 restrict who may hold and transfer tenancy land, and what the birth rule means for a particular holding is a tenancy law question. This page names the Acts and stops there, and sends that question to an advocate |
| Your own Circle Office, and the office demanding the certificate | The two sources that outrank this page. The Circle Office on what evidence it will read if the Khatian cannot be found, and the employer, college or panel on what exactly it is objecting to. Ask both in writing and keep the replies |
Caste Certificate After Marriage in Jharkhand in Nine Lines
The short version
- Caste is determined by birth and cannot be changed by marriage.
- So a marriage neither grants a category nor takes one away.
- Your certificate keeps naming your father, because he is the proof.
- Jharkhand proves caste from the Khatian and pre 1950 land records.
- Those are your own family's papers, never your husband's.
- What changed is your name, and that is the real problem to fix.
- A caste certificate is issued fresh, never amended.
- The Scheduled Tribe service publishes a thirty day limit.
- The Central format needs the Circle Officer's certificate first.
