How long after posting from Ranchi is the notice published?+

Commonly 30 to 45 days after the file reaches Delhi, since Part IV releases weekly and the office processes files in order; two to four days in the post before that. End to end from the affidavit, three to seven weeks.

What happens if the file is wrong when it reaches the office?+

It is returned for the defect, about six weeks are lost and the fee is not refunded; refiling costs a fresh fee. The commonest defects are a signature in the new name, one witness, a cutting instead of a full newspaper page, and the wrong proforma. This is why the file is checked before it is sealed in Jharkhand.

Can a Pragya Kendra or CSC file it for me?+

No. A Pragya Kendra can help print the BharatKosh receipt, but the notice is not a JharSewa or CSC service and no centre can submit it; the envelope still goes to Civil Lines in your name.

Does the Jharkhand Government Press at Doranda have any role?+

None for a Gazette of India notice. It prints the Jharkhand Gazette of the State's own notifications; the practice of printing private name changes there was stopped, as reported, in July 2025, and those pages were never Part IV notices. Can I visit your Ranchi office and file there?+

You can visit to hand over originals and have the wording read back, and we will build and check the file and carry the envelope to Delhi in your name; but no one, including us, can file a Gazette of India notice from Ranchi, because the office that receives it is in Delhi and the application is yours.
