D.El.Ed Certificate Name Correction in Jharkhand: Marksheet, Diploma, JTET and Teacher Recruitment
The D.El.Ed, or Diploma in Elementary Education, is the two-year teacher training course recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). In Jharkhand it is the door to JTET, CTET and primary teacher posts. JSSC's 2026 Sahayak Acharya notice, as reported, asks that your name match your matric certificate exactly. So a D.El.Ed that spells you differently can hold up a teaching job. Reports differ on which body examines Jharkhand's D.El.Ed students, so start with the name printed on your own certificate. We publish Gazette notices, and we say this first: a spelling slip in these papers needs no Gazette notice.
Five points, in the order you will need them. First, take your matric certificate as the base, since teacher posts ask for an exact match, as reported. Second, read the body printed on your D.El.Ed marksheet; that body corrects it. Third, apply through your training institute, with your matric certificate. Fourth, fix the D.El.Ed before JTET or a teacher application. This is our advice. Fifth, a spelling slip here does not need a Gazette. We publish Gazette notices, and we say this plainly.
Who Issues Your D.El.Ed Papers in Jharkhand
We could not confirm one official body for D.El.Ed exams in Jharkhand. JAC's home page lists portals for secondary, intermediate, Madhyama and madrasa exams, but not D.El.Ed. Admission guides name the State's teacher education bodies, and one college listing names the State Board of Technical Education. So the body printed on your own marksheet is the one to go to. This is our advice.
| Point | What the sources show |
|---|---|
| The course | A two-year Diploma in Elementary Education, recognised by NCTE |
| Admission | Handled by the State's teacher education bodies, as reported by admission guides |
| JAC portals | Secondary, intermediate, Madhyama, madrasa. No D.El.Ed portal on JAC's home page |
| Who examines | Reports differ. Read the body printed on your marksheet |
| Teacher recruitment name rule | Name and date of birth must "match their matriculation certificate exactly", as reported for JSSC's 2026 notice |
| Certificate formats | Other formats "will generally not be accepted", as reported for the same notice |
| Correction fee | Not found |
So two things matter. The body on your marksheet corrects it, and your training institute is the door. And teacher recruitment reads your D.El.Ed against your matric. If they differ, that is the gap to close. This is our reading.
Which D.El.Ed Name Mismatch Case You Have
D.El.Ed name problems fall into a few kinds. This sorting is ours, based on the papers people send us.
| What does not match | What it usually is |
|---|---|
| D.El.Ed marksheet differs from matric | A slip at admission or registration |
| First and second year marksheets differ | Typed separately each year |
| D.El.Ed certificate differs from marksheets | A slip when the certificate was printed |
| JTET or CTET differs | Typed differently on the TET form |
| Hindi and English forms differ | One name written two ways in English |
| Name after marriage | Matric in the earlier name, later papers in the new |
| Genuine change of name | A deliberate new name, after matric |
How to Correct a Name on a D.El.Ed Certificate in Jharkhand
Each paper is corrected by the body that issued it. Your training institute holds your admission record and is usually the door. The table below is our practical advice.
| Situation | What we usually advise |
|---|---|
| D.El.Ed marksheet or certificate differs | Apply through your institute to the body printed on it, with your matric |
| Only one year's marksheet differs | Correct it to match the other year and the matric |
| JTET differs | See JTET name mismatch |
| CTET differs | See CTET certificate correction |
| Matric differs | See JAC marksheet and Aadhaar |
| Name after marriage | Marriage certificate and affidavit. See affidavit after marriage |
| Genuine change of name | A Gazette notice, then each paper |
Correct the marksheets before the certificate. The certificate is made from the marksheet record. If you fix only the certificate, the marksheets behind it still disagree. Ask for every wrong paper to be corrected in one application. This is our advice.
Carry your matric certificate, the wrong D.El.Ed papers, your admission receipt and Aadhaar. Where the gap is small and a teacher form is due, a spelling correction affidavit can explain it at verification. But the 2026 notice, as reported, asks for an exact match. Correct the paper where you can. This is our advice.
JTET, CTET and Teacher Recruitment After a D.El.Ed
Your D.El.Ed name travels to eligibility tests and teacher posts. This list is our advice.
| Record | What to watch |
|---|---|
| JTET | See JTET name mismatch |
| CTET | See CTET certificate correction |
| Para teachers and Sahayak Acharya | See Sahayak Adhyapak name mismatch |
| JSSC verification | See name correction before JSSC and JPSC verification |
| Caste and residence certificates | See caste certificate correction |
| PAN and Aadhaar | See PAN and Aadhaar |
Does a D.El.Ed Certificate Name Correction Need a Gazette Notice?
No, for a spelling slip, a Hindi spelling or a name after marriage. Those are fixed at the office that issued each paper, or tied with a marriage certificate and affidavit. A Gazette notice is for a genuine change of name, and even then each paper needs its own update.
| Situation | What usually applies |
|---|---|
| D.El.Ed marksheet or certificate slip | Correction by the issuing body, through the institute. No Gazette |
| JTET or CTET slip | Correction with the exam body. No Gazette |
| Aadhaar slip | Aadhaar update. No Gazette |
| Name after marriage | Marriage certificate. No Gazette |
| Genuine change of name | A Central Gazette notice, then each paper |

Central Gazette Process for a Name From Jharkhand, and Where It Fits a D.El.Ed Certificate
No district in Jharkhand has a gazette counter, so a genuine file goes from Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Deoghar or anywhere else in the state to the Department of Publication, Civil Lines, Delhi 110054, and the notice publishes in Part IV of the Gazette of India. As reported in July 2025 the Finance Department stopped personal name change notifications from the Jharkhand Government Press with immediate effect, so there is no state alternative to fall back on.
The Eight Steps of a Name File Sent From Jharkhand
Settle the final name first
Letter by letter, with the spacing you want, and then use exactly that everywhere, Aadhaar included. A corrigendum after publication is a second fee and a second wait.
Pick the category, then its proforma
A genuine change of name is change of Name Adult or Major. A wrongly typed spelling is the public notice for a wrongly written name. Twelve categories exist and only one is yours.
Type the proforma in duplicate
Two originals with two witnesses giving signature, full name, address and mobile number on both copies. A change of name is signed in the old name; a public notice is signed in your own name.
Fill the employment field if it is a change of name
The adult proforma asks for the post of the applicant and the office or company name. A student or a homemaker should still complete it rather than leaving it blank, because a blank field brings the file back.
Publish and keep the original paper
One of the daily local leading newspapers, carrying both names in full, the father or husband name and the residential address. The whole original paper goes in the file, not a cutting.
Pay only through BharatKosh
The Non Tax Receipt Portal and nowhere else since October 2018. Select the Department of Publication by name, read the amount the portal shows on the day, pay in your own name and print the e-receipt.
Check every date, then post it yourself
Nothing in the file older than one year. Personally or by post or courier only, never through an agent or advocate. Photocopy everything first, because nothing sent in comes back.
Read the notice, then update in the right order
Check every word the day it publishes and download the e-Gazette copy. Then update Aadhaar and PAN, and then your bank account and residence papers, with the original Gazette notification.
The Five Papers in the File, and What Is Checked in Each
| The paper | What is checked in it, clause by clause |
|---|---|
| 1. The proforma, in duplicate | That it is the right category format; the existing full name exactly as your documents carry it; the new full name exactly as settled; the father or husband name; the full address with pin code; the post and office or company name where it is a change of name; the signature in the right name for the category; two witnesses complete with signature, full name, address and mobile number |
| 2. The affidavit or undertaking | The same names and address as the proforma, word for word, with wording matching the category. On Rs 100 non-judicial stamp paper as our safe default |
| 3. The original newspaper | The original paper, not a cutting; the paper name and date of publication visible; both names carried; the father or husband name and residential address; dated within the last year |
| 4. Photographs, identity proof and any category paper | Two self attested passport photographs; self attested identity and address proof matching the proforma address; both witnesses proofs; and, in a public notice file, the attested photocopy of the connected document carrying the error |
| 5. The CD, its certificate and the BharatKosh receipt | MS Word, without the witness portion, with the name typed in place of the signature; the certificate that the hard copy and the soft copy are the same; the forwarding letter to the Controller of Publication with a telephone number and email; the e-receipt |
The posting detail is on the sending the file to Delhi page, the change of name wording on the proforma format page and the public notice wording on the public notice proforma page, the charge by category on the fee and undertaking page, the reasons files come back on the rejection reasons page, and the download on the download page.
