NABARD Application Name Mismatch in Jharkhand: Development Assistant and Grade A, Exact-Name ID and Changed-Name Papers

Candidates from Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Dumka and across Jharkhand apply to NABARD, the national bank for agriculture and rural development. NABARD's notification for Development Assistant, posted on 17 January 2026, says: "The name of the candidate or his /her Father/ Husband etc. should be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the Certificates / Mark sheets as well as valid ID Proof brought for the examination." It warns: "Any change/alteration found may disqualify the candidature." For a candidate whose name has changed, entry is allowed "only if they produce original Gazette notification / their original marriage certificate / affidavit in original." We publish Gazette notices, and we say this first: a NABARD application spelling slip needs no Gazette notice.

Quick answer

Five points, in the order you will need them. First, spell your name as on your certificates, mark sheets and the ID you will bring, as NABARD asks. Second, carry an ID bearing exactly the call-letter name. Third, any change or alteration found may disqualify you, so check before you submit. Fourth, if your name has changed, carry the original Gazette notification, marriage certificate or affidavit, as NABARD lists. Fifth, Grade A has its own advertisement; read it for its rules. We publish Gazette notices, and we say plainly that a NABARD application spelling slip needs none.

What NABARD's Development Assistant Notification Says About Names

NABARD application name mismatch in Jharkhand, with the NABARD application form, a call letter, a photo ID and a marriage certificate
The ID must bear exactly the call-letter name.

These points are quoted from NABARD's Development Assistant notification of 17 January 2026, with applications from 17 January to 3 February 2026. We read it as a copy hosted by Testbook.

What NABARD's Development Assistant notification says about names
PointWhat the notification says
Spelling"as it appears in the Certificates / Mark sheets as well as valid ID Proof brought for the examination"
Alterations"Any change/alteration found may disqualify the candidature."
Changed nameAllowed "only if they produce original Gazette notification / their original marriage certificate / affidavit in original"
Photo ID"bearing exactly the same name as it appears on the call letter"
JharkhandOne Development Assistant vacancy listed; Ranchi a Phase II exam venue
"Exactly the same name." NABARD's ID rule is strict. Choose the ID first, then type the name to match it and your certificates.

Which NABARD Application Name Mismatch You Have

NABARD application name problems usually fall into a few kinds. This sorting is ours.

Kinds of NABARD application name mismatch
What does not matchWhat it usually is
Form name against the ID you will bringA slip, or the wrong ID chosen
Form name against certificatesA slip, or the certificates differ
Father's or husband's nameA slip in that field
Married name on ID, maiden name on certificatesA changed name; NABARD lists the marriage certificate
Initials against full nameA style difference
Genuine change of nameGazette or affidavit, per NABARD's list
Certificates and ID must agree. NABARD names both in its spelling rule. If they differ, fix one at source before you apply.

How to Handle a NABARD Application Name Mismatch

NABARD warns that any change or alteration found may disqualify a candidate, so the fix is in your papers, before you apply. This table is our practical advice, built on NABARD's list.

Handling each kind of NABARD application name mismatch
SituationWhat we usually advise
Form, certificates and ID differ by a slipCorrect the ID or certificate at source before applying; keep an affidavit linking the spellings, which NABARD lists for changed names
Married nameCarry the original marriage certificate. See married women
Genuine change of nameOriginal Gazette notification or original affidavit, per NABARD's list
ID slipCorrect it at source. See Aadhaar or PAN
Certificate slipSee university degree correction
Initials against full nameA one-and-the-same affidavit
Originals, not copies. NABARD's list says "original" Gazette notification, "original" marriage certificate and affidavit "in original". Carry originals, with photocopies.

NABARD Exam Day Photo ID and Later Stages: Where a Name Mismatch Shows

A name mismatch shows first at the exam gate, where the ID must bear exactly the call-letter name. It can show again when your certificates are checked at a later stage. Prepare once, for all stages.

Where a NABARD name mismatch can show
StageWhat to prepare
Exam gateCall letter and a photo ID bearing exactly the same name
Changed nameOriginal Gazette notification, marriage certificate or affidavit
Certificate check at a later stageCertificates in the form's spelling, with originals. This is our advice; follow the call letter for what to bring
Grade A (Assistant Manager)A separate advertisement. We could not read it, so read its own rules
Read your call letter. It carries its own instructions. Follow the call letter over any general advice. See our document verification page.

Does a NABARD Application Name Mismatch Need a Gazette Notice?

No, for a slip. NABARD's own list for a changed name includes a marriage certificate and an affidavit. A Gazette notification is one of three choices, not the only one.

When a Gazette notice is relevant to NABARD recruitment
SituationWhat usually applies
Spelling slipCorrect at source, or an affidavit. No Gazette
Married nameOriginal marriage certificate. No Gazette
Initials against full nameAffidavit. No Gazette
Genuine change of nameGazette notification or affidavit, per NABARD's list
Our commercial interest, stated plainly. We publish Gazette notices. For a NABARD application spelling slip, you do not need one, and NABARD's own list names an affidavit too. Where you have genuinely changed your name and choose a Gazette notice, it goes in the Gazette of India, Part IV, since the Jharkhand state press stopped personal notices in July 2025, as reported.

How to Avoid a NABARD Application Name Mismatch, Step by Step

1

Pick the ID you will carry

Before applying.

2

Lay out certificates and mark sheets

Beside the ID.

3

Make sure they agree

Fix one at source if not.

4

Type your name to match them

Letter by letter.

5

Check father's or husband's name

Same rule.

6

Check once more before you submit

Any alteration may disqualify.

7

Keep changed-name papers ready

Originals.

8

Download the call letter

Check the name.

9

Carry the ID with the exact name

As NABARD asks.

10

Keep originals for later stages

With photocopies.

The one rule that holds the whole job together. Choose the ID first, then type the name to match it. NABARD wants exactly the same name.

Central Gazette Process for a Name From Jharkhand, and Where It Fits a NABARD Candidate

Read this before the rest of this section, because a NABARD application spelling slip never needs it. NABARD's own list for a changed name includes a marriage certificate and an affidavit. No Gazette notice is needed for those. It is printed in full so you recognise at once when a notice is being sold to a candidate who does not need one.

No district in Jharkhand has a gazette counter, so a genuine file goes from Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Deoghar or anywhere else in the state to the Department of Publication, Civil Lines, Delhi 110054, and the notice publishes in Part IV of the Gazette of India. As reported in July 2025 the Finance Department stopped personal name change notifications from the Jharkhand Government Press with immediate effect, so there is no state alternative to fall back on.

The Eight Steps of a Name File Sent From Jharkhand

1

Settle the final name first

Letter by letter, with the spacing you want, and then use exactly that everywhere, Aadhaar included. A corrigendum after publication is a second fee and a second wait.

2

Pick the category, then its proforma

A genuine change of name is change of Name Adult or Major. A wrongly typed spelling is the public notice for a wrongly written name. Twelve categories exist and only one is yours.

3

Type the proforma in duplicate

Two originals with two witnesses giving signature, full name, address and mobile number on both copies. A change of name is signed in the old name; a public notice is signed in your own name.

4

Fill the employment field if it is a change of name

The adult proforma asks for the post of the applicant and the office or company name. A student or a homemaker should still complete it rather than leaving it blank, because a blank field brings the file back.

5

Publish and keep the original paper

One of the daily local leading newspapers, carrying both names in full, the father or husband name and the residential address. The whole original paper goes in the file, not a cutting.

6

Pay only through BharatKosh

The Non Tax Receipt Portal and nowhere else since October 2018. Select the Department of Publication by name, read the amount the portal shows on the day, pay in your own name and print the e-receipt.

7

Check every date, then post it yourself

Nothing in the file older than one year. Personally or by post or courier only, never through an agent or advocate. Photocopy everything first, because nothing sent in comes back.

8

Read the notice, then update in the right order

Check every word the day it publishes and download the e-Gazette copy. Then update Aadhaar and PAN, and carry the original Gazette notification to NABARD's exam.

The Five Papers in the File, and What Is Checked in Each

The five papers of a Central Gazette name file from Jharkhand and what the Department checks in each
The paperWhat is checked in it, clause by clause
1. The proforma, in duplicateThat it is the right category format; the existing full name exactly as your documents carry it; the new full name exactly as settled; the father or husband name; the full address with pin code; the post and office or company name where it is a change of name; the signature in the right name for the category; two witnesses complete with signature, full name, address and mobile number
2. The affidavit or undertakingThe same names and address as the proforma, word for word, with wording matching the category. On Rs 100 non-judicial stamp paper as our safe default
3. The original newspaperThe original paper, not a cutting; the paper name and date of publication visible; both names carried; the father or husband name and residential address; dated within the last year
4. Photographs, identity proof and any category paperTwo self attested passport photographs; self attested identity and address proof matching the proforma address; both witnesses proofs; and, in a public notice file, the attested photocopy of the connected document carrying the error
5. The CD, its certificate and the BharatKosh receiptMS Word, without the witness portion, with the name typed in place of the signature; the certificate that the hard copy and the soft copy are the same; the forwarding letter to the Controller of Publication with a telephone number and email; the e-receipt
The proforma is where files are lost, and there are twelve to choose from. A wrongly typed spelling filed on the change of name form declares henceforth be known as, claiming a change you never made. The Government charge already paid is not refunded, because BharatKosh payments are non-refundable. You then have six months to make good a shortcoming the Department points out, after which a fresh application with all new documents is required.
What to select on BharatKosh, field by field. Pay to the Department of Publication under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, and pick the Ministry, the Pay and Accounts Office and the Drawing and Disbursing Officer by their names in the dropdown, never by a code copied off a website. The codes printed for this office on different websites do not agree with each other, and money paid into the wrong head cannot be traced to your file. Read the amount on the portal on the day you pay, because it is revised each financial year.
What a Gazette notice will not do for NABARD. It will not change the name on a submitted form, and NABARD warns that alterations may disqualify. It links old and new names, and nothing more. Since we publish these notices, the honest version is this: for a spelling slip, you need none. Our name correction against name change page explains the categories.

The posting detail is on the sending the file to Delhi page, the change of name wording on the proforma format page and the public notice wording on the public notice proforma page, the charge by category on the fee and undertaking page, the reasons files come back on the rejection reasons page, and the download on the download page.

What Handling a NABARD Application Name Mismatch Costs

We know of no NABARD correction route after you apply. The costs are for your papers. A slip usually needs an affidavit or a correction at source, not a Gazette notice.

Costs connected with a NABARD application name mismatch
ItemWhat we can and cannot tell you
Application feeSet in each notice. Read the notice; we print no figure
AffidavitStamp paper, Rs 100 as our safe default, plus the notary's fee
Marriage certificateThe registrar's fee, if you do not have one
Aadhaar or PAN correctionThe current charge at each
Gazette noticeOnly if you choose it for a genuine new name. Paid on BharatKosh, revised each year and non-refundable
What we chargeQuoted on the call. For telling a candidate which paper is enough, nothing
The mistake that costs the most. Buying a Gazette notice when NABARD's list names an affidavit too. Read the list first.

Written and maintained by the Jharkhandnamechange.com documentation desk, led by founder Vipin Chauhan, B.Tech LL.B, with 5+ years filing with the Department of Publication. The rules on this page are quoted from NABARD's Development Assistant notification dated 17 January 2026, which we read as a copy hosted by Testbook: the spelling rule, the warning on alterations, the changed-name papers, the photo ID, and the Jharkhand vacancy. Three limits are declared openly on the page itself. First, we could not open NABARD's Grade A advertisement; it has its own rules. Second, we read the Development Assistant notice as a hosted copy, not on nabard.org. Third, the affidavit for a slip is our advice. We publish Gazette notices, and this page says plainly that a NABARD application spelling slip needs none. We are a documentation consultancy and not advocates, not NABARD, not a coaching centre, and not the Department of Publication. Who we are is on the about page.
